Insulating Glass (IG)

Insulating glass (IG), sometimes referred to as ‘insulated glass’, consists of two or more panes of glass separated by a spacer and sealed around the edges to create an insulated airspace. One lite of glass typically has a multilayered spectrally selective LoĒ coating that reflects infrared energy and still allows visible light to pass through. The airspace, usually filled with argon or air, improves thermal performance, reduces heat transfer, and minimizes noise infiltration. Insulating glass is widely used in residential and commercial applications for its enhanced energy efficiency, comfort, and sound insulation benefits.

XL Edge® IG: Launched in 1993, XL Edge insulating glass includes a warm-edge spacer made of stainless steel and a dual-seal construction. It provides improved thermal insulation and contributes to a more comfortable interior environment.

Endur® IG: Released in 2014, Endur is a high-performance insulating glass that improves on XL Edge’s foundation, enhancing U-factor and interior condensation resistance. Launched in 1993, XL Edge insulating glass includes a warm-edge spacer made of stainless steel and a dual-seal construction. It provides improved thermal insulation and contributes to a more comfortable interior environment.
